Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team and drive the technological direction of our company. As the CTO, you will play a critical role in shaping our product development strategies, overseeing technology initiatives, and leading a talented team of engineers and developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of Training Works technology strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals.

  • Oversee the development and enhancement of our two flagship products, "Fatigue Defence" and "Skilltinuous."

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define the product roadmap.
  • Manage a team of skilled engineers, data scientists, and developers, fostering innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable software.
  • Stay current with emerging technology trends and industry best practices to drive innovation in our products.
  • Ensure the security, stability, and scalability of our systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with technology partners, vendors, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  1. Educational background:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
    • An advanced degree, such as an MBA, would be considered an asset.
  2. Experience:

    • Proven experience as a technology leader, with a strong track record of successfully developing and launching software products.
    • Experience in managing and scaling software development teams.
  3. Technical Skills:

    • Strong programming and software development skills: Deep understanding of software development and be able to work with various programming languages.
    • Knowledge of cloud computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Database management: Understanding of database systems, data modeling, and database optimization.
    • Cybersecurity: An in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity practices to protect the data and systems.
    • Infrastructure management: Skills in managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and data centers.
    • Big data and analytics: Knowledge of tools and techniques for managing and extracting insights from large datasets.
    • DevOps and CI/CD: Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
    • AI and machine learning: Familiarity with AI and ML technologies.
    • IoT (Internet of Things): Understanding how to leverage IoT technologies.
    • Software architecture: Able to design scalable and maintainable software systems.
    • Mobile app development: Knowledge of mobile technologies.
  4. Leadership and Management Skills:
    • Team leadership: Ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
    • Project management: Proficiency in managing technology projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
    • Strategic thinking: Able to align technology strategies with overall business goals.
    • Budget management: The ability to manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
    • Vendor and partner management: Managing relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other C-suite executives and departments within our orgaization.
    • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Business Acumen:
    • Understanding of the industry and market in which the company operates.
    • Business development skills to identify and leverage technology for competitive advantage.
  7. Continuous Learning:
    • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies.
  8. Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:
    • Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements specific occupational health and safety and the handling and use of biometric data.
