Tamara Vatcher
CEO
Chief Executive Officer

Tamara is the CEO and co-founder of Training Works. Her commitment to safety is deeply personal. Growing up in a mining town in Labrador, she saw the devastating effects of unsafe conditions when her father was diagnosed with silicosis from dust exposure. That experience gave her a lifelong drive to help keep people safe.

Tamara holds a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in physics, an advanced diploma in human resources, and certifications as a Workplace Educator, Level 5 Literacy Educator, TOWES Assessor, and GORT Assessor. She spent ten years in senior leadership at Kaplan International, guiding instructional-technology development and program delivery across North America and Asia. After a five-year pause to raise her son, she returned to the workforce as a senior consultant with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, where she led skills-mapping for large-scale projects. In 2015, she co-founded Training Works.

Tamara believes anything new must be created mindfully and methodically, with people at the center. This mindset shapes Training Works’ growth, with each tool being built to the highest technical and ethical standards, protecting, empowering, and respecting the workers they serve.

Away from work, Tamara finds peace hiking rugged coastal trails with her rescue Labrador pup, skiing in the mountains, and cooking meals to share with her family.
